Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

Introduction

Alvio ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Alvio mobile application (the "App"). By using Alvio, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID and, optionally, your name and email address. If you use Guest Mode, we generate a device-based anonymous identifier. No additional personal information is required.

Onboarding Data: During onboarding, you may provide information about your mental health concerns, mood, goals, communication preferences, and support context. This data is used exclusively to personalize your AI experience.

Conversation Data: Your messages and AI responses are stored to maintain session continuity and provide context-aware support. Conversations are associated with your user ID.

Usage Data: We track daily message counts for enforcing free-tier limits. We collect anonymized usage and advertising data through AppsFlyer, our mobile attribution partner, to understand which channels help users find Alvio. This includes your device identifier (IDFA, where permitted) and basic advertising data such as install attribution and campaign source. We do not track browsing patterns or location data within the app.

Voice Data: When you use voice input, your audio is processed by OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription. Audio recordings are not stored after transcription is complete.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide personalized AI conversational support
  • Maintain session history and conversation continuity
  • Enforce daily message limits for free-tier users
  • Process subscription payments through Apple's In-App Purchase system
  • Improve the quality and relevance of AI responses

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Alvio uses the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI: For AI conversations (GPT-4o), speech-to-text (Whisper), and text-to-speech. Your messages are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply.
  • Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication.
  • Apple: For authentication (Sign In with Apple) and payment processing (In-App Purchases).
  • AppsFlyer: For mobile attribution and marketing analytics. AppsFlyer collects your device identifier and advertising data to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and understand how users discover Alvio. This data may be used for tracking purposes as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can opt out of tracking when prompted by the system dialog. AppsFlyer's privacy policy applies.

Data Retention

Your conversation data is retained as long as your account is active. You can clear your conversation history at any time from the app's Settings. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Alvio is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 17 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Clear your conversation history at any time
  • Opt out of data processing by discontinuing use of the App

Tracking & Advertising Data

Alvio uses AppsFlyer, a mobile attribution platform, to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. When you first open the app, you will be asked via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt whether you allow tracking. If you consent, the following data may be collected:

  • Device ID (IDFA): Your device's advertising identifier, used to attribute your app install to a specific marketing channel or campaign.
  • Advertising Data: Campaign source, ad interaction data, and install attribution information.

This data is used solely to understand which marketing channels help users discover Alvio. It is not used to build advertising profiles, serve targeted ads within the app, or sell to third parties. If you decline tracking, Alvio functions identically — no features are restricted.

You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. Your continued use of Alvio after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
